Have you ever wondered how women get their foundation to look so flawless? Great news! With a few simple techniques, you can achieve a flawless foundation application as well.
Prep the face
Prepping your face is very important. This is the first step to a flawless foundation application. Prepping your face can be simply cleaning and moisturizing it.
Prime the face
Primer is used to provide a barrier between your skin and makeup. Primer will help protect your skin from any breakouts that may happen due to the makeup. Although, everyone does not have this problem. It is important to know for those who may have sensitive skin like myself. Adding primer to your face will also help your foundation last longer throughout the day or night.
Finding the right foundation
There are a ton of foundation products out there. Finding the right one can be tough but not impossible. Luckily, most beauty stores can match your foundation for you the day you walk in. However, for my tech savvy divas, I found that Maybelline has a foundation finder right on their website. I have tested this one myself and surprisingly it was the shade that I already use which i’ll give their finder tool an 80% accuracy. It is fairly simple, all you need to do is take a selfie and that's all. Maybelline will do the rest for you to match your shade.
Wet the makeup brush or sponge
Wet your makeup brush with setting spray. If you are using a makeup sponge, you want to wet it as well. Make sure it is damp so it will be easier to blend in. I know it may sound strange but trust me it works! I personally find that the application is much smoother this way.
Setting the foundation
Oh! Divas, this is an absolute must. After you apply your foundation, you want to set it with a powder. The powder can either be a loose powder or pressed powder. Either one will set the foundation, it’s based off of preference. Setting powder does exactly what it sounds like, it sets your foundation. This will prevent creasing and allow your foundation to last longer.
Once you have followed these simple steps, you can achieve a flawless foundation look.
