Top 5 favorite drugstore makeup products for beginners

Makeup is used to enhance your natural beauty, right?. Well, for others like me you may find it as a form of art where you can express yourself. I love makeup for that reason alone. You can create many different looks. For me, my inner Prima Donna diva comes out and i love it! I will say that you have to find what's best for you as far as looks and products. I along with many other divas even the biggest beauty gurus are still learning new products and different ways of applying makeup. So practice! Just remember you don’t have to spend a ton of money on makeup. Drugstore makeup is the best way to go when trying out makeup. You can try out many products without breaking the penny bank. I want to share with you what has worked for me and i how i use it still to this day. Here are my top 5 drugstore makeup products:

1. Mario Badescu facial spray. This facial spray has been my holy grail. It can be used as an additional hydrating product for your face or setting your makeup. I personally use this product prior to applying my foundation for extra hydration because i suffer from dry skin. Even better, its only $7 at Ulta Beauty.

Tip # 1 Skincare is very important in general however, i believe it's even more important when it comes to wearing makeup since it can cause breakouts or clogged your pores. Trust me divas, you want to take care of your skin.

2. Maybelline Master Primer. For women that suffer from dry skin this primer in particular is great for you. I suffer from dry skin and have found this product to work great for me. However, you must find what primer works for you but it will be a vital when it comes to applying foundation. Divas, i have to say it is a must have in your makeup bag. This beauty goes for about $10 in your local drugstores. Maybelline also has other types of primers from this line so use the one that better fits your skin type needs.

Tip #2 Primer will be the most important part when it comes to applying foundation. Please divas do not wear foundation without primer. Trust, it will be a much needed tip while learning more about makeup. Primer is important because it helps to protect your skin underneath your foundation and will help to your foundation give a smooth flawless finish.

3. Maybelline Super Stay Foundation. I’m pretty sure even if you are new to makeup you have heard about this foundation before. This foundation gives full coverage at an affordable cost.i love this particular foundation line because it has a wide variety of shades for different skin tones. If i have to be honest about drugstore foundation products, i will say that for women of color it has always been hard to find a match. Finally, we no longer have to worry about that while i believe that there can be improvement, we are off to a great start. You can purchase this foundation for $7 to $10 at many drug stores like Walgreens, Cvs or Rite Aid. Also, visit their websites sometimes there are sales going on which makes it even cheaper.

Tip #3 Finding your match can be complicated and may take some time. The best advice i can give is to try to see what works for you. Once you try it on at home, you may discover that it is not a match to your skin tone. Don't worry! Remember, when it comes to makeup you may not get it right the first time so take advantage of beauty consultants in your local drug store. She will be able to match you but if your local drugstore does not have one then girl, take advantage of your return policy. Most drugstores will allow you to exchange. I recommended Walgreens since my local one has a beauty consultant maybe yours will. Check it out.

4. La Girl Pro concealer. The world’s most affordable and loved concealer. Talk about a win win situation both affordable and great. You can find these almost anywhere at this point from amazon down to your local beauty supply store. When i first saw this product i was skeptical about it because of the price. It was only 2.99 at my local beauty supply but i was willing to try it. I immediately fell in love with this beauty. Now, available for 4.99. OMG! It is a must have for beginners. There are a ton of shades for different skin tones. I use this concealer to highlight underneath my eyes, nose, bridge of my eyebrows, and chin. Some may use it to cover dark circles. Whether you will like to use it for highlighting or covering your dark circles, this concealer works wonders.

Tip #4 Apply this concealer with a beauty blender. Using a beauty blender will give you an even and flawless finish. Your sponge also needs to be damped.

5. Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter. This is one of my favorite drugstore highlighters because it leaves my face with a nice glow as well as it very pigmented so a little goes a long way. Also, for my dark skin divas like myself, you want to use a highlighter with a gold tint to it like this one. You can also purchase this highlighter from most drugstores for only $8 to $10 bucks.

Tip #5 For a less caked up look, I’ve learned to wet my makeup brush with setting spray before applying a highlighter.

Always remember that you don’t have to spend a lot on makeup to achieve a flawless makeup look. I have shared my top 5 drugstore makeup products with you that are also beginner friendly. Please share with me your top drugstore makeup products. I would love to hear them! Also, i filmed a YouTube which features my top 10 drugstore makeup products a while back. I will link it below.
