Oh how time flies! Just yesterday i remember celebrating my 21st birthday and i am already closer to thirty. I’ve decide to put together 25 things that i learned in the past 25 years in celebration of my 25th birthday.

1. BE YOURSELF. Don’t let anyone define you.

2. SPEAK UP. People will do what you allow them to do so it’s okay to let others know how you feel.

3. MY PASSION FOR MAKEUP. The amazing feeling of putting on mascara for the first time. Watching your natural eyelashes enhance right before your eyes. When makeup makes you as happy like it does for me, i will say that you have indeed discovered your passion.

4. NEVER USE BLACK TO FILL IN MY BROWS. Omg! I’m glad I've learned that black liner was not the answer when filling in my brows.

5. THE IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY. Most people will agree that family equals happiness whether it’s the family you were born into or the family you create. I’ve learned that most of the unforgettable moments life brings has been with my family.

6.WEIGHING OUT THE GOOD AND BAD. In my personal love relationship this has been a big lesson. There is good and bad in every situation, you just have to ask yourself if there’s more bad than good. If so, sister you have a bad situation at hand. Let it go!

7. GIVE PEOPLE LESS OF ME. Over the years, I’ve found myself in situations where I've given my all to less deserving people in my life. Remember, be careful who you give your all to.

8. I PROCRASTINATE. I’ll admit it, unfortunately i have a bad habit of saving things for the very last minute. Lol

9. I HAVE ANXIETY. Although, i still suffer to this day with anxiety. I have learned how to deal with it in my own way. Progress, Progress, Progress!

10. I DON’T NEED VALIDATION FROM OTHERS. The only approval i’ve learned that matters is from myself. If you don’t like me for who i am well, then that sucks for you. Your missing out!

11. NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO LIKE YOU. You can’t allow people that don’t like you, to affect you. You are amazing and as long as you can identify that. You will be okay. I’ve learned to look at it as i’m just simply not everyone cup of tea and i’m okay with that. Some people can’t handle all this glitter and glam. Trust me, i get it!

12. LOVE MYSELF. If i don’t love myself then who in the world would.

13. TRY NOT TO STRESS THE SMALL THINGS. There are no need to stress the things that are out of your control. Now, if you lost your favorite mascara then girl, stress away. Lol

14. YOU CAN’T FIX THE WORLD’S PROBLEMS. I’ve tried my hardest over the past 25 years to fix others problems but some people's problem isn’t just how to contour. Unfortunately, this diva has her own issues and refuses to take on others

15. ITS OKAY TO BE ALONE. I used to hate being alone however I've learned that sometimes the best times are alone. You can let loose and strut around in your birthday suit with not a care in the world. Why? Because for one second of your life no one is around to judge, look or bother.

16. EMBRACE YOUR INNER DIVA. I have never been a plain Jane, i will admit that.Ii love that i have a little extra glitter in my step. So I've learned to let her out and watch her brighten up the world. You go diva!

17. SMILE THROUGH THE TOUGH TIMES. Yes, life sucks but I've learned that my smile sometimes is all i have. People will fall in love with the simple things you have to offer. Since my smile can brighten up the day that why not smile. Smile away!

18. BE SELFISH. As harsh as this may sound, I've learned that there is nothing wrong with being selfish. Sometimes you need to time to focus on yourself.

19. FAMILY CAN TREAT YOU WORST THAN FRIENDS. You ever sit and think how could a complete stranger care about you more than family? Well, i can’t speak for anyone else but for myself when i say this phrase has proven to be true time and time again. I’ve learned to just accept the fact that some family members won’t give you what you expect from them.

20. TOUGH LOVE. This lesson i am still learning how to cope with to this day. It’s the hardest thing that one will face. Imagine wanting something so bad from somebody and realizing that it will never happened. Talk about tough love.

21. EMBRACE MY IMPERFECTIONS. No one is perfect. we all can stand in front of a mirror and point out what we don’t like about ourselves. The key to getting through is learning to embrace those things. Walk in confidence!

22. WATCH WHERE YOU PUT YOUR ENERGY. The older i got, I've learned that negative and positive energy can alter your mood. It’s important for your own sanity to pay close attention. You need to figure out which energy does the people closest to you carry. Stay far away from those who carry around negative energy as it can be quite contagious.

23. ADAPT TO CHANGE. Change can be hard for anyone. Throughout my life, change has become second nature to me that I've had no choice but to adjust to it. Although i still hate it, i’ve learned to accept that some change is for the better.

24. WHO MY TRUE FRIENDS ARE. Oh my what a lesson! A lesson everyone either has learned or will learn over time. People will show their true colors just wait for it. I’ve gotten the opportunity to see this over the last few years. Pay attention to the signs!

25. THE SMALLER THE CIRCLE THE BETTER. As i turned 25 this year, I've learned that having fun doesn’t necessarily have to consist of a large group. For previous birthdays, i remember feeling like the more people that i had a part of my birthday plans the better, Yeah right! I’ve learned very quickly that was a mistake. This year i enjoyed myself with my fiance, his brother, and two of my friends. You got to become the life of your own party and then you’ll realize that you may not need anyone. The less the better!
